Locating your current Zoom Cloud Recordings: 

If you schedule your Zoom meetings from the Zoom tab WITHIN Canvas, your Zoom recordings will go in your Panopto Course Folder.

If you schedule your Zoom meeting from sjsu.zoom.us or the Zoom application, your videos will go into your Panopto Meetings Folder which is inside your My Folder.

Moving prior Zoom Cloud Recordings into Panopto:

SJSU will now be storing all Zoom cloud recordings in Panopto. If you’d like to save any of your prior Zoom cloud recordings, please move your Zoom cloud recordings into Panopto. Please remember any videos with student interaction cannot be reused due to FERPA policy [pdf].

Panopto is a video creation and management tool that provides students a variety of ways to engage with video content. For faculty and staff, Panopto's integration with Canvas and Zoom offers a smooth workflow to store and share videos, edit automatically generated captions and view video analytics.   

To get started, go to https://sjsu.hosted.panopto.com/ and login with your SJSU credentials. You can also access Panopto from the left-hand navigation menu in Canvas.

Panopto features easy and flexible video capture and management solutions. Faculty and staff can record and share videos from anywhere, using any laptop, tablet, or smartphone.

Any Zoom cloud recordings you create will automatically appear in your Panopto account so it's seamless to store, edit, add captions, and share your videos.

Panopto helps institutions achieve compliance with federal accessibility requirements for online video content with flexible captioning options, screen reader support, textual and visual searching and more.

Active Learning

To promote collaboration and discussion, students can use Panopto's commenting feature to discuss video content. Plus, students will find the search tool, and private notes and bookmark features useful for reviewing and studying. 

Additional active learning features are video quizzes, video submission assignments and peer review.
