College of Science Seminar

Upcoming Seminar

Please join us for our next research talk on Friday, May 9th. Please see the details below.

May 9, 2025 seminar flyer

Dr. Sogol Jahanbekam, Associate Professor of Mathematics and Statistics

Titled: "Spanning Trees with Many Leaves"

Abstract: Spanning trees play a crucial role in graph theory due to their applications in a wide range of optimization problems. Among these, spanning trees with a large number of leaves are sometimes preferred, as they typically exhibit smaller diameters and fewer cut-vertices. In this talk, we present algorithms that construct spanning trees of graphs with a large number of leaves.

Where: ISB 130 (next to the lobby on the ground floor)
When: Friday, May 9th from 3 - 4pm

Calendar

Please feel free to add and share the College of Science seminars calendar to stay up to date on both college and department seminars. The shareable link is here.
