Black Faculty and Staff Association
Initially formed in 1974, the purpose of the Association is to foster and promote the development of Black faculty and staff at San José State University. The Black Faculty and Staff Association is open and available to all who are interested to participate, regardless of race, sex, color, ethnicity or national origin.
Goals of the Association
- To promote Black faculty and staff success through mutual support and collaboration.
- To identify and implement programming that positively amplifies the Black faculty and staff experience at SJSU.
- To expand and share knowledge of Black contributions to society with the campus community.
- To promote support for Afrocentric principles and theories as an integral part of critical thinking in higher education.
