Event Venue & Parking

Accessibility

The Provident Credit Union Event Center is an ADA accessible building on campus. Students and guests with ADA accessibility needs will enter through the designated ground floor entrance of the venue. 

Guest ADA accessible seating will be available for the person with accessibility needs and one assistant only. All seating inside of the venue is on a first come, first served basis. No reservations are required.

Event Parking and Permits

Discounted parking permits will be available up to the date of the first Commencement ceremony for each semester.

Spring 2025 Parking Permits are available on our Parking Services portal. 

Day-of parking permits will be available to purchase from the parking kiosks at the full, non-discounted rate.

Parking is available in the West and South Parking Garages. [pdf]

South Garage located off of East San Salvador Street.

Dining Options

Spartan Eats welcomes you to dine with us during commencement week! Select locations will have special hours—please review our adjusted schedule to help you plan ahead and enjoy your celebration. Please note, items purchased at the locations listed are NOT permitted inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center.

Concessions will also be available inside the Provident Credit Union Event Center during ceremonies. Congratulations, Class of 2025!

Spartan Eats dining schedule for SJSU during Commencement 2025 (May 21–23). Dining Commons and Spartan Village Dining Hall open Wednesday from 7am–2pm, closed Thursday and Friday. Village Market open Wednesday 9am–5pm, Ginger Market closed all three days. Student Union food venues include Panda Express, Jamba, Subway, Starbucks, and others, with varied open hours mostly from Wednesday to Friday. MLK Library and Nirvana Soul Coffee open 7am–6pm Wednesday to Friday. A QR code and note state that hours may change and refer to the website for updates.

Spartan Bookstore

The Spartan Bookstore will be open AND have a pop-up available on-site during the days of Commencement.
